Purge People!

OK. I'm in the middle of packing and should not be blogging, but I just have to say this. . . simplify simplify simplify your life! And I'm talking to myself by the way. It's my tip for the day.

How do you simplify you might ask? Well how about, start with throwing away three of your diaper bags. OK, so maybe I'm the only one silly enough to have four different bags that I use for diaper bags, and its not even because they are fashionable to match different color schemes of my outfits. No they are just random bags that I've picked up here and there. Like one I got from the hospital when Liv was born, another when Warner was born. Another is a beach bag that someone gave me, and one, yes one I actually bought because it was cute.

Needless to say, I just emptied out four different diaper bags full of junk. I just dumped it all on my dining room table. What a pile it was! I'm embarrassed to even be admitting this, but hey its real life isn't it? Things ranging from little stuffed animals, to diapers that neither one of my kids fit in anymore, to bags of stale pretzels, and lots and lots of crumbs. Ah crumbs, the bane of my existence!

Ok, that's all I had to say. I'm going to simplify my life by throwing away three diaper bags today, right now.

And I feel better already.

How are you going to simplify your life?

Happy Tuesday.

V-Day

Amidst the chaos we somehow managed to enjoy a nice, pink, fluffy waffled, fatty-sausaged valentine breakfast.

Isn't it amazing how we mothers spend so much time preparing these lovely meals, and our tots or kiddos gobble it up in two minutes flat, leaving a small countries worth of dishes and food on the floor and table in the end? I'm really not trying to be negative here, its still worth having good food, and fun meals, it is. I just think its worth mentioning. It makes me think of going to disney land as a kid and waiting for so long to get on the funnest rides, only to have seconds, maybe one minute of a thrill. I think thats why Jaron and I like to stay at the table and talk for at least a good ten more minutes while the kids make a mess somewhere else in the house. We figure its worth it, because by sitting there for ten more minutes, and savoring the oh so yummy meal in our full, fat bellies, for just minutes longer, we somehow enjoy it more. Even if some small child somewhere else is breaking something, or some one. It's worth it.

Them vs. Us

I should so so so so SO not be blogging right now, but shoot here I am.

I decided there is a war going on in our house. It's them vs. us. I.e. Jaron and I vs. Olivia and Warner. . . and guess whose winning?

For every hour of work I get done in the day they create two more hours for me to do.

If you were to walk upstairs you would see two rolls of toilet paper completely unrolled and scattered through out the house. One bottle of pink princess bubble bath tipped upside down and spilled all over the bathroom floor. One broken drawer in Warner's room (we still don't know who the culprit is on that one, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it was actually Warner), and Olivia's room pretty much looks like the a-bomb of toys dropped on it.

So I stand before you humble, yet defeated. Uh oh gotta go!

The little man is a little possessive over apples.

Today was one of those days where we were so busy that when our kids broke down and started crying, we finally realized that we hadn't fed them in four, ok five hours. We were in the car, when said break down was happening, and unfortunatly the only food item I had on me was an apple. One apple. So I took a big bite out of it, gave that bite to Liv, and then handed the apple to Warner to gnaw on, stealing it every few moments to take another bite out for Olivia.

The picture above, was pretty much what Warner looked like when I gave him the apple, although this picture was taken on a different occasion. He wasn't too happy to be sharing bites with Liv to say the least.

Why are we so busy? Well. . . drum roll please. We bought a house. We are proud to say we are now home owners. It is very exciting, and we love our new, little house. The best part about it, in my opinion, is the big fenced backyard that has rose bushes. Yes rose bushes people. I love roses, but how I'm supposed to take care of them? I know not. Figure this out, I will.

Happy Monday Evening.

We are going to watch some more Olympics. Go Apolo Ohono!!

Eye Pokes and Love From Warner

Whenever Warner pokes you in the eye with his index finger it means he really loves you. I'm serious. He only does it when he is really happy, and after we have given him lots of kisses and love. It's his way of saying I love you back.

Things I want to remember about my almost one year old.

What he Loves:

Avocados
Getting Messy (with food usually).
Making a mess. Especially pulling all of the shoes out of the cubby hole. That is his favorite thing to do. Or else, pulling all of Olivia's books off of her bookshelf, that is his second favorite thing to do.
Bath time with Olivia or Mom.
When dad gets home from work. "Da da da D a T", is what he says when Jaron gets home, and then he starts flapping his arms up and down which means that he wants to be picked up by him.
Crawling and pulling up on everything.
Making noises and waving goodbye.
Music of any kind. He especially loves whenever I practice my violin. He is my greatest fan. He crawls to the bottom of my feet, looks up at me with a big smile, and starts bouncing his torso up and down.
Olivia, when she's not taking his toys, or dragging his body too and fro.
Ice cream. Feed him ice cream and he will love you forever. My favorite part about feeding him ice cream is his face he makes once he realizes how cold it is in his mouth.
Pulling his blanket up over his eyes to play peek-a-boo just before nap time or bed time. Its sort of a routine game we play before he goes down every day.

What Warner doesn't love:

Being hit in the head
Getting his diaper changed
Getting dressed

What I love about Warner:
-That he gives me a hug every night before I put him in bed, and immediately after his hug he turns to his crib and forces all of his body wait in its direction, happy to comply to going to sleep.
- His funny sense of humor. He often giggles right before I nurse him, and he thinks its even more hilarious to unlatch just as my milk comes in so that he can get sprayed in the face by milk, that gets him laughing pretty hard, and gets me completely messy!
- His ability to sympathize. When Olivia cries because she is hurt, or tired, or upset in general, Warner will crawl over to her, scrunch up his little nose, purse his little lips, and do this fake little cry. Its his way of sympathizing with her.
- I love his eyes, even if I don't know what color they are. When light shines on them they look so blue, but when his room his dim and I'm nursing him they look almost dark grey.
- He really and truly is just such a happy and content little kid.

FHE

I'm sure the day will come when FHE is a hard thing to do, but right now we are enjoying our days of FHE so much, because Olivia actually enjoys doing it.

Tonight the FHE lesson was on the creation. We talked about how heavenly father created the world in which we live and how he sent Adam and Eve down to be the first people who would take care of the earth. We looked at pictures and Liv talked about all of the animals in the picture and that "Jesus made them all". We sang "I am a child of God" and "Popcorn popping on the apricot tree", then Liv gave the closing prayer, which she happily volunteered to do. And this is how her prayer went:

"Dear Father, were grateful for da erf, and da animals, and da cinnamon rolls, and da juice, I can't drink it right now, but I will, in the name of Jesus Christ Amen".

When she said "amen". Jaron and I just smiled at each other. It was a great prayer. She recognized two very important things, which we were amazed that she so easily picked up on from my five minute lesson, and they are that,

1:heavenly father created the earth and all living things which dwell on it,

and

2: that, that same person who created the earth and all the things that live on it, was the very same being that she was talking to at that moment.

What a neat thing for a three year old to know.

Happy Monday Night.
