Three Randomnimanies

1. Last Saturday I hung out with some of my dearest friends: Kelly Moon and baby Jude, and Natalie Permann and her baby Jayden. We missed you Elise! I was in a primary presidency with these girls in the 109th ward about a year ago. Every single one of us including Elise who was not able to join us because she lives in D.C., got pregnant during our primary presidency. We always joked that there was something in the water. Instead of actually getting things done at our meetings we mostly just talked about pregnancy and babies. It's amazing that we even pulled off a primary program! :) Here we are a year later with our babies. I will always love you girls!

2. Amidst all the boring packing and such, we had a burst of joyful activity when Jaron's new graduation present arrived. He was thoroughly touched to the point of tears. Maybe we can make a home out of Washington after all. . . :)

3. Tomorrow we leave for the wild wild north west. Everyone has been asking me if I am so excited to be moving to Seattle. To be honest, I'm really not at this point. I'm feeling quite sad. I'm sure it will be fine once I have some friends and get settled in, but at this point I'm leaving a lot of what I love and know. I will miss my mom dearly, my family, my friends, Utah Lake, hobble creek, my ward, free babysitting, the basement. I'm sure I'll get over all this sadness right?? I'm probably just feeling scared and a little emotional.

P.S. Lets look at the bright side of things, I don't think we will have to change our blog name, because from what I hear we will probably be living at the top of another hill, if not literally, always metaphorically! :)
Kiss it goodbye smalls!

OH. MY. WORD. Those babies are so dang cute!!! Holy Cow! And it's no wonder, just look at those Mommas. Wish I could have been there! Sorry you're feeling sad about moving, Jess. No matter where you go, though, you will be loved by all.

This place will grow on you quickly. We haven't seen a cloud in the sky for a whole week! The church is strong here and they are excited whenever a new family moves in. You will find friends really fast. Now I'm going to have to get a wetsuit.

Slick, Jaron, just like a Seattle Seal. How exciting!

A must admit my eyes wanted to tear a little at the picture of your empty basement apartment. Jess, I always get a little whacked out every time we move too. As you might remember. I think 50% of it is upheaval stress, which goes away the first morning you wake up somewhere new and fun. Good luck!

I mis you guys already. And I don't even live in Utah. And Jaron's picture inspired me...sorry to steal from you again. Visit me blog to see what I mean.

Love you guys! Good luck!

Jess - give yourself a lot of time to adjust - it's taken us about 8 months to feel at home in our new area. You'll do a wonderful job Jess - you and Jaron are fantastic people and will do a lot of good work where you're headed.

And as a plus - you're headed to one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Think Mt. Rainer for holidays :)

Hey Jess,
That pic of you and Natalie and Kelly is so cute! I haven't seen them in forever, it was great to kinda get a mental update. As far as moving goes, I know EXACTLY what you're feeling! I always wanted to leave Utah and have new experiences, but when the time actually came, my heart broke (I didn't realize how attached I was to my family, or to Provo :). And it was hard at first. I was seriously in mourning, for my old life, I guess. But what I realized was that even though Spokane isn't the place I love yet (honestly, I don't know if I ever will) and there are still things I miss terribly about Utah - mainly friends and family - the Lord has blessed us, and contintues to bless us with some really great experiences that made leaving all worth while. So anyway, I'm sure everyone tells you this, but it will get easier as time goes on and as you adjust to the area, and I know the Lord will bless you guys with wonderful experiences too!
Okay, so you guys are moving this weekend? Bryce and I are going to be in Redmond from the 15-17 of February...we should totally get together! It's just a short visit for a wedding reception, but we'd love to see you guys, even if it's only for a little bit. Let me know what you think after you get all settled in -k-
Love you guys!

Let's see if I can help you with your list of concerns:

1. You'll miss your mom. Yes. Of course. But it's only a 2 hour flight or a days drive away. You'll see her lots, I bet!

2. You'll miss your family and friends? See above comment. For those who are farther away, well that's why blogging is so great!

3. Utah Lake? The lakes in Washington are much more breathtaking, and not so smelly. Hobble Creek? Aunt Annette's place in northbend will be a perfect substitute.

4. Your ward? You'll make great new friends in your new ward there!

5. The basement and free babysitting? Well. I don't know what to tell you about that. You were pretty spoiled ;)

Ah, thanks for posting the pic so that I can have a copy of it too! That was SO fun to visit with you guys. I hope we didn't take up too much of your time.. we were there for a while, and I know you were trying to pack. It's just that we will miss you! Thanks for having us over. I hope that all goes well for you. I'm sure it will be quite an adventure. But as people get to know you, they will love you like we all do and I have no doubt you will find some great friends! Keep us posted!
