Can I cry to you for a minute?

Because. . . my little girl is starting school tomorrow. And all of the sudden I'm sitting here and thinking about what that means, and well, quite frankly I just feel like bawling my little eyes out. Doesn't it just feel like yesterday that you looked like this little darling babe Liv?

Milestones are always so bittersweet to me.  Part of me wants to hold on to my baby girl forever, and of course, another part of me wants me to see her grow up and succeed in the world. I really do want her to go to school. I think it will be so good for her, so why is this so hard for me? Why?

Can you relate? Can you? If so call me and we'll go get a treat tomorrow while I cry on your shoulder.

The sad part is, its not even kindergarten, its just pre-school twice a week for only 2 and half hours. I know I'm pathetic. So, I'm giving you a warning now that when she does actually go to school all day everyday I will be a complete wreck.

This is a sweet picture! I feel exactly the same. So we decided I would do preschool with Everett and Ashley at home this year (yeah, I'm pretty much crazy). We will have to console each other when next year our kids go to KINDERGARTEN. I don't even want to think about it. Out here it is full-day. I hope yours isn't. It sure makes it easier for a Mommy's heart!

I cried too on Peyton's first day of pre-school. I was so excited for him, but at the same time I couldn't believe how old he'd gotten. Believe it or not, Kindergarten was a bit easier (but I still teared up), and 1st Grade was a breeze. So, it does get easier . . . but its okay to cry it out today :).

Oh, and I just saw your comment asking for more suggestions. The only thing I would say is to try the Junie B. Jones series (they are hysterical but I haven't read them in a while so I don't know if the humor will be too advanced), or the Cam Jansen mystery series. I used to love those but again, it has been a while so I'm not sure if a four-year-old will get into them.

But I will try out that book you suggested for sure! It will be fun to try new stories.
