Going Green

Ok, so I'm no die hard tree hugger, but I do like to help out as much as I can with keeping this beautiful earth clean. Today I bought some re-usable grocery bags at Winco. Totally worth the 88 cents! Not only will I be saving the environment from thousands of un-recyclable grocery bags, but honestly these little gems are way easier to load and carry things home in. Another benefit is that I get six sence back for each bag I use at the grocery store, so they will pay themselfs off after 14 visits to the grocery store. Then, from then on I will make six cents a bag each time I use them from there on out. Saving the environment, and making money. . .worth it! :)

Just make sure you keep them on your front seat. I forget mine almosst everytime, but then again you are way younger than me so you probably wont. I see to forget things like crazy lately. I blame my age. WINCO. dont you just LOVE IT> i am addicted to the bins. I love that store. I had no idea they have them in Washig. Lucky you.

Way to be green. You want to hear my problem? I too made the switch to reusable, but every time I go to the store, I forget to bring them with me. I know...keep them in the trunk of the car. Can't quite get it all together, for some reason. But, your post gave me renewed motivation. Wish I made money doing it, too!

and i might add--- they are a really nice size. i find i use mine for lots of things other than the grocery store. plus, i don't have to worry about being the sad, pregnant lady whose losing her marbles (or other produce) that's rolling thru the parking lot when the bag rips apart. so i told rusty that it adds to my security, too!

Great idea! I wonder if they have anything like that here in Utah?

Good for you Jess. It does feel good to do those simple things that help, doesn't it? Hope your Chocolate New Year's Resolution is still going well!

JESS!!! What the...?? Why? What? Who talked you into this??? Oh please no. Grrrrr!!!!! These evil Seattle people are rubbing too much onto you. Now I'm going to have to INCREASE my consumption of plastic bags to offset your feelings that your decrease of plastic will actually do something to save the planet. Oh Jess....the shame!!
