As it turns out I was wrong.
There is actually one person in this world that genuinely and full-heartedly eagerly anticipates the first day of school.
And thats Jenny.
Jenny has been looking forward to this day, her first day back at Timpview high school, pretty much the whole summer, but especially in the last month. One month ago she said to me "Jess, school starts in one month! I'm so excited"! Then one week later: "Jess, school starts in three weeks! I'm so excited" (clap clap, head gawked backward and gleefully smiling up towards the sky). Then two weeks later "Jess school starts in two weeks! I'm so excited" (jump/clap/jump). She went from months to weeks to days in her vocal feelings on the matter. The final climax arrived this morning, day of, and for all I knew it could have been Christmas. Jenny woke up way earlier than usual, came to me in my sleepy state and said as seriously and excitedly as she possible could have "Jess, school today! Shower. Poofy hair. And new clothes!". I did as she asked.
Mind baffled as I was on the matter of how excited this little girl was to go to school today, as I dropped her off and talked to her teacher about Jennifer's schedule, I began to understand why school is so exciting for her. Here is her schedule: she starts school at 12:00pm everyday; she gets to school just in time for lunch and to see her dear friends who she loves and who she can be incredibly silly with; then she goes to class until 2:13p.m.; then the bell rings and school is done. That makes exactly two hours and 13 minutes of school a day, with a 40 minute lunch included. Now honestly, with a schedule like that, who wouldn't be excited for their first day of school?!

GREAT picture Jess. Jen looks darling. You captured Jen.
I just have one question, and it's the same question I had all year when I would send Jenny off to school -- what is in that backpack? I love how she fills it SO full of random things.
Jess, that picture of Jenn is ADORABLE! I've got to get it framed, it's so cute! Please give her a huge hug for me and tell her that I love her and "Good Job!" on her first day back at Timpview.
Go T-Birds!
Wait, I'm laughing at Brooke's comment about Jenn's backpack!
Yea for Jenn going back to school! That is a great picture of her. I wish I could have one tenth of the excitement for anything in life that Jenn has for just about everything!
Absolutely love it --- and although this sounds crazy, I am actually feeling a little nostalgia not coming back to byu for another semester (i did 7 full years baby!) In fact, i am another crazy who loves school, even without the awesome schedule like jennys...but i will miss the new classes, subject matter, groups and friends you make, professors, byu football frenzy, crisp cool air, fun holidays, friends, our byu student ward, and everything else that i used to look forward to every year in the fall. Fall is my favorite time of year, and there is no where better than Utah to be in fall.....except maybe here in north carolina, where it is also fun. Anyways, love you guys, stay in touch. Steph and Chip Brown! xoxoxoxo
Steph we will. Good to hear from you!
I'm with Jenny. School sounds pretty good after 8 hours of staring at a computer screen.
