Man of the Hour
Today was the day that Jaron defended his thesis. I've just gotten back from it, and I have to say he looked totally handsome and gave such a confident and well done presentation. It's been a few years that he has been working hard on his thesis, and he has been so dedicated and focused on his project. I admire what a hard a dedicated man that he is. This day was the culmination of it all, and he came off as conquerer! I'm so proud of you J! As I write this, Jaron is probablly as wet as a little clam and as pale as a sweet little marshmallow as he is presently now being scrutinized by his research committee. All- say a prayer in your hearts that they will show him a little TLC. We'll let you know the verdict!
The second picture is of Jaron and his thesis advisor, mentor, and exemplary professor, Roland Hotchkiss, to whom we owe much gratitude.

Hey Jaron-
With the help of Brooke, I am happy to be able to congradulate you on this great day!! Wow, you did it and we are all so proud of you. We are sad that it is over because it means you will all move away. We do however, celebrate with you, and are glad for you that it is done!! Way to Go!
Much Love, Liz & family :)
So, El Rey, you are finally at that crossroad of becoming a real man. You look very handsome in your shirt and tie--I am not partial--I know that you did a great job and your dad and I are so very proud of you. You are such a great person--you have become such a wonderful husband and father, friend and son. I know that you knocked em dead. I love you so much, MOM--your real one.
Jaron was impressive; I was there and heard him. I got a little lost on the equations though. Good job, Jaron! You should be proud of yourself.
Mom (Paxman)
Wow, Jaron! Way to go!!! You did it. If I know anything from experience of watching Jared go through his defense, it may take a couple days for the feeling of accomplishment to set in, but I hope it does because you greatly deserve it! You've got the whole world ahead of you and you are going to do great. It's no wonder you were so highly sought after. Congrats from Connecticut!
Love all the Davis clan: Jared, Kelly, Whitney, Matthew and Kate-Kate (and Charles)
Jarone,
I was impressed with the extent and thoroughness both of the field work and the analysis. Great job!
Dad (your unreal one) David
Jaron,
Congratulations and hip-hip-hooray! You are done, and we are proud of you!
Brooke, Rich & Kiddies
jaron... you are a genius. i was so confused the whole time. nice work!!
J-ron, I was just thinking about you today b/c one of my friend's Christmas newsletter mentioned 3 wonderful things that happened in their family this year, her husband defending his thesis was 1 of the 3. So you should probably add this into your holiday good news as well. So proud, so proud. Also, I would like to take a moment to request a picture of Olivia be posted everyday until Christmas, thank you very much.
Hey! I know Roland Hotchkiss! We used to be good friends with his family when we lived in Nebraska. What a small world (and what a great mentor to have).
You rock, Jaron.
Jaron,
Way to rock the house! It's a great feeling to close a chapter in your life and begin a new one. We're glad your in the fam, and are glad Jess let us share in your success.
Drew, Nat, and crew
Great work, Jaron. We wish we could have been there, but know that our thoughts are with you guys at this exciting time!
Yea! Congratulations Jaron! We're proud of you! And congrats to Jess for supporting your hubby through grad school - that is an accomplishment, too! :)
I would let you pass just based on that beautiful polyester tie. How could you possibly fail with that little gem?
the best part is that you snapped a photo during the presentation. haha, love it. jaron, you know you're going to miss the clyde building and all the weird engineers. that was the best place to study because I was never distracted by the talking because I never understood anything they were saying to each other! you never hear an engineer discuss their Friday plans - unless they included a trip to the local damn.
congrats!
Jess - we are very happy for you and Jaron, and excited for your new job and adventure awaiting you on the west coast.
PS - Greg wants to know where Jaron got his tie.
I'm pretty sure that Jaron either bought the tie at Savers or some other thrift store, or else got it from some Venezuelan family on his mission. Sorry Greg. . .not much help!
That's exactly what Greg thought - Greg is a connoisseur of ties from TJ Max, Savers and Ross :)
