A Shout Out to Ja RONE

I'm grateful for many men in my life today, but I just wanted to give a shout out to my husband today, because, well, its his first father's day, and I just want to let him and you know that he's doing a great job at it! Here's is why I think he's pretty much the awesomest:

* He pretty much is the only person on this earth that can get Liv to laugh so much
* He does sweet acrobatic moves with Olivia that make her smile, and make him and her both look like quite the talented duo.
* He helps change diapers, bathe, and feed Liv even when he's had a long tiring day at work.
* He likes to sing lots of songs to Liv including but not limited to Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (Flaming Lips Song).
* He has already started to instill his sense of adventure into Liv by taking her camping, biking, boating, hiking, and indo-board riding.
* He often gets up in the night with Liv when she is sick, sad, or just hungry and then brings her to me.
* He almost always offers to hold Liv when we are together, whether it is at church, at home, eating dinner, or whatever so that I can have a break, but mostly I think just because he loves to hold her.
* He honers his priesthood by doing his home teaching, having FHE, saying prayers, reading scriptures, and going to the temple.
* He has genetically passed on his good looks to Liv.
*He does a great job serving me by helping around the house, listening to me when I need to talk, and just generally taking care of his family.
*He works hard at school and at work, which can sometimes be real stressful, so that he can provide for us, and so that I can stay home with Liv.

So thanks Jaron for being a rad Dad. And to all of my other fathers out there, Papa Brown, David Daddy, and Dad: Happy Fathers Day!!!

Quick Catch Up

I just wanted to write a quick post to catch you all up on the happenings at the top of the hill. Life has been a little hectic lately. First of all my mom flew home from her mission early to say goodbye to my dying grandma Hoopes. I was lucky enough to be there for that experience and I also got my chance to tell this great woman how much I loved and admired her. A few days after our little visit, while my mom was with her, grandma Hoopes passed away. It's sad to me to realize that I can't go visit Grandma Hoopes anymore and tell her what is going on in my life as she holds my hand and lovingly listens, but I'm so grateful that she is now in a painless and peaceful place.

It's been so great having my parents home. The house at the top of the hill has been full of my siblings and family which is always great.

Only a day after my dad got home Jaron and I moved our little wee one and ourselves up to Hobble creek to babysit my cousins three adventurous kids, while she and her husband escaped to Mexico for five days. They have an awesome home with a killer view, but I gotta say, we couldn't enjoy it much, as pretty much every second was spent looking after Everett, Porter, Alta, and Olivia. All of which are under the age of five. I won't go in to detail about our fun adventure up there, but I will say that I sure have a lot more respect for mothers of three or more out there! I don't know how you guys do it! Needless to say, Jaron and I might be waiting a while for number two.
