Some of you may have noticed that this evening was a full moon. At 11:00 pm the moon finally made it over the mountains, and I got the camera and tripod out and took a picture of it. This is the result. I think NASA might want it, so if anyone talks to them tell them it's for sale.

Hog's Back Road

Jaron, Jennifer, Olivia, and I enjoyed a scenic drive and dinner up Provo Canyon last week and I just thought I'd share some of the beautiful scenery that we experienced with all of you!
After only a twenty minute drive up to the look out of rock canyon, we set up a card table and chairs and had a lovely dinner at the place where Jaron proposed to me three years ago. On the menu was a yummy chicken salad, chips and salsa, and devils food cake with fresh whipped cream for dessert. It was absolutely wonderful!

After we finished eating we packed up our stuff and headed for the car to begin our drive along the hog's back road. The scenery was gorgeous. These pictures just don't do it justice.

Look at the moon!
This photo is real. The sky looked just like that. It looked like it was on fire!

First Day of School

I don't ever remember being excited for the first day of school to start in all my 23 years of life. I do however remember dreading the day, year after year, as my blissful summers of laying in the sun, and just generally lounging about came to an end. In fact, I thought it was a general consensus that everyone old and young loathed the ending of summer and the beginning of a new school year.

As it turns out I was wrong.

There is actually one person in this world that genuinely and full-heartedly eagerly anticipates the first day of school.

And thats Jenny.

Jenny has been looking forward to this day, her first day back at Timpview high school, pretty much the whole summer, but especially in the last month. One month ago she said to me "Jess, school starts in one month! I'm so excited"! Then one week later: "Jess, school starts in three weeks! I'm so excited" (clap clap, head gawked backward and gleefully smiling up towards the sky). Then two weeks later "Jess school starts in two weeks! I'm so excited" (jump/clap/jump). She went from months to weeks to days in her vocal feelings on the matter. The final climax arrived this morning, day of, and for all I knew it could have been Christmas. Jenny woke up way earlier than usual, came to me in my sleepy state and said as seriously and excitedly as she possible could have "Jess, school today! Shower. Poofy hair. And new clothes!". I did as she asked.

Mind baffled as I was on the matter of how excited this little girl was to go to school today, as I dropped her off and talked to her teacher about Jennifer's schedule, I began to understand why school is so exciting for her. Here is her schedule: she starts school at 12:00pm everyday; she gets to school just in time for lunch and to see her dear friends who she loves and who she can be incredibly silly with; then she goes to class until 2:13p.m.; then the bell rings and school is done. That makes exactly two hours and 13 minutes of school a day, with a 40 minute lunch included. Now honestly, with a schedule like that, who wouldn't be excited for their first day of school?!

Squatty Blogs Again!

Hello admirers! For those of you who haven't heard yet, I have begun to stand up on my own. Here's how it works:

Step 1. Approach an object such as the couch, a chair, or the leg of some guy in Elder's Quorum, smile, and grab on tight.
Step 2. Inch your legs gradually into the kneeling position, and smile some more.
Step 3. Straighten out your knees. This part can be tricky, because if your feet are too far away from the object you're holding on to you can fall on your face. That doesn't hurt all that bad though, so don't sweat it if it does happen.
Step 4. If your feet are right, stand up all the way, smile and wave to the world, cause everyone is watching you!

For the visually inclined learners out there, I have a few pictures of the process. Have fun.

Jaron's first post (maybe his last)

Hello cyberworld. I am learning the art and science of blogging, and figured my inaugural post could be about my new haircut. Jess gave it to me, thinking I would just have it for a few minutes, but I ran away from her clippers and am going on 24 hours now. I think BYU may consider this an "extreme hairstyle" and due to the fact I need to do things like buy books, get a new ID, etc... I may have to change. That and I like sleeping in bed and not on the couch, where I have been condemned to sleep if I remain a Mohican. Now I understand why they died out; it wasn't the wars with the Frenchys and Iroquois or whatever, it was a failure to progenize. So this post is more of an experiment than anything, and as a scientist I have found that experiments are best kept short.

A Blog from Squatty

Check out this new highchair that mom finally decided to buy me. It was only 13 bucks from Kid to Kid. What a steal!
What? Say something.

I love my new highchair. I especially love to bop my head against the back of the chair. It feels so cool.

Here are some pic's of me at bath time. I love bath time!

This is a weird picture that my mom took of me trying to use the A-priority function on her camera. Slow down Mom. Maybe figure out your camera a little better before you try taking pic's in A-priority mode. In spite of the weird color, and being a bit blurry and over-exposed my mom thought it was still cute enough to post.

Hey look at my two teeth? Do you like them? I do!

Here's me in the bath again. I love bath time! I especially love to crawl around in the bath playing with my toys. I also occasionally like to dip my face in the water with my eyes open just to make sure my mom is always watching me. Well thats all for now. Thanks for taking a peek at the life of me.
