I should really be cleaning. . .

Sprinkler time!

McChord Air Show

Fourth of July at Northbend

On Wednesday some of my family is coming in town. I feel giddy every time I think about it. I thought I better do a little post before they all come, because I probably won't do another one until the end of summer.

If you love this sweet boy raise your hand.

I took some pic's of our pretty roses before they died last week so that I could remember that they might be worth keeping around in spite of their high maintenance ways.

Ok now I go clean.

igoogle: Papa John's Pizza, Kent Washington, 98031

What they don't tell you about making your own pizza:

1. Homemade pizza sauce is only a little bit better than store bought, but store bought is much less time consuming and results in no extra dishes.

2. Homemade pizza dough is not worth it when you can buy pre-made pizza dough for $1.50 from winco.

3. When they say "Slide the pizza off of the peel and on to the baking stone in the oven", what they mean is "We are professionals who have been doing this a very long time and have got this tricky skill down. So be warned! And be very careful in your pursuit of transferring the pizza to the hot simmery stone in the oven, because it is quite possible that one might accidentally tilt the pizza peel so much that the nice gooey pizza flies over the pizza stone and onto the hot, simmery oven. This will in turn, cause a lot of smoke to swell in your already sweaty, hot kitchen, as well as leave a very large, very messy, sizzling and smokey piece of sticky cheese pizza on the bottom of your oven for you to watch sizzle and burn until the oven is cool enough to clean it out. Also, do not try to salvage the pizza. If you do, you will just burn your hand really badly and then swear out loud three times in front of your three year old child".

No they don't say any of that. Why would they? No one would ever make homemade pizza again.

Liv's first recognizable drawing

About 8 months ago I walked into the kitchen where Olivia had been scribbling away as usual, and found this. You can imagine my delight at my daughters first intelligable impressions of the human physique. I was so impressed. How do kids learn these things?

I wish so bad I had kept her original picture. This is actually a drawing she did yesterday for me, but this is almost identical to the drawing that came from her tiny little fingers 8 months ago, sans the big cirlces for eyes and replace them with itty bitty dots.

* Also today, and I write this only because I want to remember it, Olivia exclaimed "Mom, I found my muscles!" And she was pinching at some little thing inside her arm. Ah ha ha. Kids are fun.

Oceanside June 2010

Because I really hate doing travel logs there are only three things I will say about our trip to Oceanside:

1. It rocked.
2. It was beautiful.
And. . .
3. Archie Tug Sessions is Olivia's new favorite person.

Oh and I'm going to add a number 4:

The fresh ice cream in homemade waffle cones from the Tillamook cheese factory is seriously worth the drive, even if you are coming from China.

More Pics of Oceanside

These pictures were from Pepper and Archie's camera:

Who really falls asleep mid-muffin?

And wait real quick. . . trust me its worth a look. . .

Is that not the freakiest looking animal you have ever seen?

The end.

Hope you enjoyed the pics.

I can just hear David Spade screaming inside that hideous thing "Lama face!!!"
