Two Months Old

231/2 inches tall (75th percentile)
12.02 lbs in weight (55th percentile)
391/2 inch head (45th percentile)

Wow! Where has two months gone?

Warner, you're not aloud to get any bigger! I just want to freeze you in this squishy, cuddly, sweet, innocent new born phase forever.

Allow me to jot down some things I love about baby Warner before it leaves my memory and runs off to the great abyss of my brain forever:

*I love his cry (except for when it's a "I'm in pain cry" then it makes me cry too). Its the most pathetic little cry I've ever heard and that's why I love it. He almost sounds apologetic to be crying and to be bothering anyone.

*I love how he can entertain himself for hours. Maybe this is just part of being the second, and more neglected child, but I think he really likes his time to himself. He lays on his back in his crib and smiles at his teddy bear mobile above his head, or stares at his trains on his bumper, and happily lies there, awake, and peaceful while I attend to Liv.

*He loves to watch Olivia play. And when she's not hurting him I think she is his most favorite person in the world, besides when he's hungry, then I'm his most favorite person in the world.

*I love how he stares at his hands like they are some kind of wonder to him. (I don't think he's quite figured out that they are attached to his body yet).

*I love how he sucks on his hands any time they pass by his mouth.

*I love his little, sweet eyes, and his soft skin.

*I love to watch him and Jaron stare at each other, because they look like twins to me. Just one is a small Jaron, and one is a big Jaron.

*I love how cuddly he is, and how when I hold him it just feels like he's melting into me.

*And my number one favorite thing about Warner is (drum roll please) his sweet and adoring personality. I feel so much love from this little baby. All it takes is one look in his direction to get him to smile.

At the end of the day when Olivia goes to sleep and I have a moment to hold my baby, I sneak off to my room and talk and sing him. It feels so therapeutic as he smiles up at me, his eyes never blinking, never shifting, never losing sight of my face. As I hold him there, his sweet eyes and soft, smiley coos melt away all of my busy thoughts of the day and it feels like for a moment time stands still. So soft. So quiet. So peaceful is my little boy.

Sweet little blessing and a puzzeling issue:

Today while at the park I was sitting on the side walk holding happy, little Warner when out of no where Liv, who had been playing at the park, walks up to Warner, places both hands on top of his head, closes her eyes, and after jabbering in a very sober tone for about 30 seconds she said "Amen" and looked up. Then she looked at me and said "Like Daddy".

The crazy part about this is, I don't know that Liv has ever seen Jaron give a blessing in her life, besides when she was given a blessing by him when she was 4 weeks old! He did get set apart for his new calling a few weeks ago, but she was running around the room and I didn't think she was even paying attention. I really get the feeling these little ones pick up on a lot more than we think they do. Needless to say, I'm sure Warner was grateful for her little blessing. And I was laughing so hard at her little jibber jabber I just keep wondering to myself what she was saying for him in her blessing.

What do you think of this photo below?

A wierd photo shop job? Nope just our camera. Does anyone out there ever have this same problem with there SD card? Every once in awhile they just mess with a picture like this. Any tips or ideas as to why this is happening would be much apreciated.

Easter Activities

First there was sugar cookies. . .

Liv helped and she came up with the genious idea of putting food coloring in the doe. This butterfly she did with a little help from me. She insisted on a green/blue/orange butterfly and look how pretty it turned out.
She smashed the doe, colored it, cut it, then placed it on the tray and we cooked it. . .
She frosted it. . .
Then she admired her beautiful work. . .
Then there was blurry family photos using the tripod after church. . .
Then there was delicious food, good friends, chaotic toddlers, and a lot of fun. It felt just like home.
And finally there was an Easter egg hunt. (Using winco plastic bags, cause that's how we roll around these parts). :)

We also enjoyed watching a movie called "Finding Faith in Christ". I was reminded yet again of how grateful I am for Jesus Christ, his life, his ministry, and his suffering for us.

Furthermore, Olivia came home from church with a picture of Christ coming out of the tomb that she had colored in nursery and it reminded me also of how grateful I am that He overcame death in this life so that we all can live again and be reunited with those that we love on the other side.

I once was lost but now am found. . .

When I lost my wedding ring almost a year ago, I refused to cry over it, because that would have been giving up hope. When Jaron found it in the move, however; and re-proposed, I let myself cry. And that I did for a long time.

A few days ago I kept trying to get Olivia to wear a cute, blue, bow that I had recently purchased at the store. Every hour or so during the day I would notice that the bow had been removed from her hair and when I would ask her where she had taken it off, she conveniently would not answer. I would then search what ever room she was in to find the bow. I found it in very sneaky places; under her pillow, behind a book on her bookshelf, in the trash. Finally at the end of the day right before Jaron got home from work I thought that I would at least try to get Olivia to wear the bow so that Jaron could see how cute she was when he walked in the door. We had been hanging out in my bedroom and I noticed that she wasn't wearing the bow once again. I also noticed that she kept looking under and around my bed with a coy, but well hidden smile. After searching unsuccessfully underneath the bed for her bow I finally found it in a tight, little spot in between the mattress and the bed frame, where only really little hands could reach.

Coincidentally, this is also precisely the place that Jaron found my wedding ring.

Sneaky little devil.

Conference

In spite of the distraction of Olivia's playful noises as she played and read books in front of our TV, and cat naps here and there that I occasionally gave into from my lack of sleep lately, I still really enjoyed conference this weekend. I can't wait until the ensign comes out and I can dive into the wonderful words from our prophet and leaders. I always feel such a hunger to be better and do more when I get done with conference and I love that feeling. From Elder Bednar's talk I have a renewed goal to go to the temple often and make my worship meaningful. Elder Holland's talk gave me a greater understanding and increased testimony of the atonement and a greater appreciation for our savior. After Elder Hales talk I realized I really need to keep on doing my budget even though I really don't want to and try to be more prudent in our spending. On top of the uplifting words from conference I really just love spending so much time at home with my family. Before I took the picture of Olivia cuddling with Jaron on the couch I was holding happy little Warner on my lap, and as I looked at our little family my heart was filled with gratitude. I feel so grateful for him and for my kids, ha I can say kids now, that is neat.

What did you like from conference?

New discoveries

Today just before nap time Liv was holding Warner and made an astute observation.

Here's our conversation:

Liv- (while prodding open Warner's lips and pointing to his gums) "Warner no teeth!"

Me- "That's right. Good observation Liv. Warner doesn't have any teeth."

Liv-(pointing to her own teeth) "I have teeth"

Liv- "I like my teeth"

Other fun pics. I know I already posted one similar to this, but, well there's no excuse other than it was good enough to repeat even though there is only a slight variation in this photo.

Pure, good, sibling bonding there.

And then this one.

Can you tell how Warner feels about being numbered among Liv's dollies?

I know it happens to almost every younger brother who is at the mercy of his tyrannical older sister :) , but I just didn't think it would happen this soon.

Yesterday as I was putting on make up, I noticed Liv looking at my makeup and all of the sudden her face lit up. Then it happened, the wheels started turning, she took one look at my blush brush and one look at Warner who was peacefully day dreaming on my bed behind us and she was off and running. "Warner makeups?" she excitedly asked.

The discovery has been made. There is no turning back. She has found her new entertainment in life.

I'm sorry Warner.
