Wait, Don't Go Away I Have a New Post!

I've decided that it's just not fair to view everybody elses cute new posts almost daily without even updating mine. This is an apology to all of my blogging fans and supporters out there, who even though sometimes when I've had the same o'l post up for more than two weeks faithfully check back again and again to see if there is something new up at "Life at the top of the Hill". Well today I don't even have anything to post about, or maybe I have too much to post about and can't pin point what to say, but at least I'm moving the old pictures down the page and puting up some new ones! Here's to my supporters! Thanks for having faith in me.

Some recent pictures of my Gracie Girl:

I love this picture of Liv. Usually she loves looking at her self in the mirror. I don't know maybe it was just that she didn't approve of the new out fit mom put on her, or maybe she's just thinking "Who the heck is that?!"

I snapped this shot as fast as I could. Liv is normally not the most cuddley baby in the world, but doesn't she just look so cuddley here? I just want to shmush her when I look at this picture.

Canyon Lands and Lola's Castle

Jaron and I just got back from a wonderful trip down to visit his grandmother Lola in New Mexico. I was a little nervous for the car ride, but I really didnt' need to fear as the picture to the right was the way Olivia looked the whole car ride there. I know that we are very blessed to have such a great baby!

We decided to make the trip a little more fun by stopping at the south entrance to Canyon Lands and there we went for a two hour hike. It felt so good to get out and stretch our legs! This is a picture of Liv and Jaron. Thank goodness for the snuggly (thanks Kel and Jared for lending it to us).

The weather was so nice and the scenery was even more so!

This is a picture of the Needles District in Canyon lands where our hike was.

Olivia in deep thought as she looks out over the vast canyon lands.

Jaron took advantage of a little shade provided by a nice little scrub oak. It is amazing how much pleasure could be found from such a little shadey spot. We took a peaceful little nap here. Lucky for us, Liv enjoyed it as much as we did, and she fell asleep lying on Jaron's stomache.

Ah at last. We arive to Lola's Castle. For all of you who have wondered where she lives. Here it is in all its grand beauty: Lola's Castle.

At night time we would go outside on Lola's front porch and watch the sun set. Farmington has some of the prettiest sunsets I've ever seen.

This is a side view of her back yard. She has beautiful rock, and hundredds of statues in her back yard. And why wouldn't she? :)

This is the back of Lola's home. One night we enjoyed a nice barbeque back here with some of Jaron's relatives. It was so fun.

One of our most favorite things to do when we go visit Jaron's grandmother is ride the Silverton Train, which starts out in Durango Colorado and ends up in Casade Springs. It is one of the most beautiful things to see.

We were actually quite lucky to make it on the train. The train left at 10:00 am sharp, and we arrived three minutes before hand and still had to buy our tickets. Jaron left us women (Grandmother, Olivia, and I) to buy the tickets while he ran to park the car. As luck would have it the peirced-nose cashier that was helping me took her sweet time to ring us up. Just as she handed us our tickets the train blew its whistle and was on the move. To make a long story short we waited long enough to realize that Jaron was indeed done parking the car, and had hopped over a fence and jumped on the moving train (by the way this has actually always been a dream of his) assuming of coarse that his three little ladies were already on it, kindly waiting for him at our seats. Not so! Unfortunately he also had the keys to the car in his pocket. In the end it all worked out. Some security guard, named Jim, was kind enough to drive us to Rockwood (which is where Butch Cassidy and the Sundace Kid was filmed) and we met up with the train there. It was really kind of funny actually.

So beautiful. . . :)

Here we are together at last, Grandmother Lola, Jaron and I. Olivia is below us in her car seat fast asleep.

Me and Liv and the locamotive.

This is a beautiful lake that you pass on the way down. I think it is called Shiloa lake or something like that.

And last but certainly not least, a picture of Liv flirting with some boys on the train.

I've never seen this girl so happy in all my life. These little kids just loved her and she loved them. She just couldnt' resist those soft, golden locks! :)

Anyway there is our trip in a nutshell! We really had a grand ol time.

P.S. Look below at the next post I posted two today.
Special thanks to all my viewers. :)

Ode to Jaron

What? Every body is aloud to brag about their husband every once in a while right?

Not only is Jaron an awesome Dad, Husband, and student, but he's also an awesome skater. I just wanted to show him off a little. So here are some pictures that I took of him at the skate park last week. He's pretty cute.

AN UPDATE ON OUR LITTLE PIGGIE

Picture #1. She now has rolled over completely on her own twice and spends more and more time in this army crawl position on her belly.

Picture #2. She's discovered her voice and loves to make high pitched squeals.

Picture #3. She still loves the same old "Happy Hippo" toy that she has been playing with everyday for pretty much the last three months of her life. Just when I think I should go by a new toy I find her pulling a face like this and decide maybe we'll give it a few more months!

Picture #4. Yes it is true, Olivia had her first experience eating solid foods (i.e. Rice cereal). She loved it and ate every bite that her dad gave her. It was a blast!

Picture #5. She loves being held by other friendly people. Mostly she just loves to be loved.

Picture #6. To this day I think her dad is still number one in her heart, although I'm a close second.

Miracle Number 4

As most of you know I spent last week visiting Kelly in Wisconsin while Jaron traipsed around Mexico gawking at hydraulic structures. It was a wonderful week, and I will post pictures of the trip as soon as Kelly sends some to me, because my camera was with Jaron in Mexico.

I just want to tell you about my travel experience coming home from Wisconsin. By the way this is not meant to come off as a rally against American Airlines (or is it. . .). So first things first. I said my goodbyes to the Daviss in Wisconsin (sniff, sniff) and hopped on a bus headed toward Chicago OHare airport. It was a long three hours trying to entertain the wee one, who was curiously not tired at all. When we arrived at the airport the American airlines agent informed me that my flight to Dallas (where I had a layover) was late and thus I was going to miss my connecting flight from Dallas to SLC. I dont think what he was saying had really sunk in until he spelled it out clearly for me. Mam, Im sorry, but there are no later flights going out to SLC tonight so you will either have to stay in Dallas tonight, or stay in Chicago and catch a flight out in the morning. Looking at my tired baby and the thought of being alone in some strange hotel didnt sound like fun, and I just couldnt help it when my eyes watered up. Or, he said you could try to go standby on a flight flying straight to SLC in three hours, but that flight is oversold by four seats. The choice is yours Mam, but if I were you I would try to stay in Chicago and not chance the standby flight because if you do choose the standby flight but dont get on, your bag will be on that flight regardless. As I was deliberating I asked him how, if I didnt get on the standby I would make arrangements for the airlines to put me up in a hotel. He then informed me that I would have to pay for the hotel and he offered me no food vouchers for the trouble (amazing).

After a moments hesitation and a little prayer in between I had a feeling to have faith and go for the standby flight. I told him thats what the plan was. He gave me my stand by boarding pass, took my bag, and I was off to find my gate. Then came the moment of Was that the spirit? Or was that just my idiotic brain that decided to get on this standby flight that is oversold by four seats, and I couldnt help it now, I just started to cry. Here I was in this airport with no food, with Liv, and having to wait for three hours not knowing if I was even going to get on my flight. This is when the little miracles started to happen.

Miracle number one: As I was pacing back and forth by my gate anxious to talk to another American airline agent, a girl about my age came up and asked me if she could help me with anything. I dont know if it had just been a long day or if it was justified emotion, but I just started crying to her. After I told her of my troubles, out of no where she asked Are you a Mormon? Come to find out she was a Mormon too. What are the odds? For the next 45 minutes she supplied me with diapers, and comfort until she and her husband boarded her flight with their little baby to Boston. What a blessing she was in my time of need.

Miracle number two: After everyone had boarded the plane and I waited in anxious anticipation, an agent finally called out my name. I excitedly gathered up Liv and my carry on and ran up to the gate. He looked at me and smiled You made it! We have a seat for you. As I started to thank him profusely he looked at me and said Do you know why you got on? Because the Lord loves me, no I didnt say that. Why? I said. Because it just so happened that the family we asked to get bumped was a family of five. So they left one extra seat on the plane behind them.

Miracle number three: Little Olivia as tired as she was, was remarkable. She hardly slept, yet she was never more than a little fussy. When Jaron finally picked me up from the airport she lost it and was hysterical. She cried the hardest I think I have ever heard her cry. We had to pull over and sooth her, but what a blessing that she was sustained until I was back with Jaron, out of the airplane, when he could help me take care of her.

Miracle number four: Ok so this might not be a miracle but it sure added to the whole experience. Sitting by me on the plane was a family on their way to SLC to ski for their spring break. Included in the family was two little girls, one was about ten years old, her name was Elizabeth, and the others name was Rachel, she was probably six. Elizabeth was fascinated with Olivia. Almost every time I would look at her she was looking at Liv and would meet my gaze and smile at me and say She is so cute. Well about half way through the plane ride she taped my shoulder and said, How do you spell Olivia? I had told her my babies name previously. Not five minutes after I had told her how to spell Olivia, little Rachel who hadnt said a word to me the whole flight handed me this picture I posted. Wow. I was truly touched by the kindness I felt from this little stranger girl. Nothing like that has ever happened to me.

Im so grateful to know that someone is watching out for me, and to know that our prayers really are heard by a loving God above who is mindful of us.
